About the final project for: Embroidery with a sewing machine

Embroidery with Sewing Machine

“Congratulations! You have reached the end of the course. Thank you so much for joining me on this journey! I hope you enjoyed learning new embroidery techniques and creating your own embroidered collar. Now it's time to finish or present your project if you have already finished it. You can use the templates I have provided and take my own course project as a reference, but I strongly suggest you take the time to gather inspiration and make a unique embroidered collar of your own. Let's briefly review the main steps to follow: Planning the Design Choose the collar template you would like to make. Or create your own by collaging the floral designs provided or sourcing your own reference images. Test out the fit of your collar.

Tracing the Design and Preparing the Fabric Trace your collar design onto water-soluble fabric and prepare your fabric for embroidery by cutting it down to size and stretching it into an embroidery hoop.
Setting up the Sewing Machine Set up your sewing machine for free motion embroidery by lowering your feed dogs, attaching your free motion embroidery or darning foot, and threading the machine. Embroidering the Collar Practice and get used to the feeling of free motion embroidery. Then start working on your project using radiant stitches, spirals, tiny circles, and outline stitches. You can experiment further with applique and cording.
Finishing off the Collar Finish your collar by dissolving the water-soluble stabilizer, ironing and cutting out the piece, and then sealing the edges with a liquid stitch-like fray check.
The Finishing Touches Complete your collar with ribbons, your own cord or buttons, so you can tie the back of your collar when you are wearing it.
Try on your collar and feel proud of your new skills! You can also hang the collar on the wall and it will look like a beautiful wreath when you aren't wearing it. Don't forget to share what you have made. To share your finished project, simply click on the button "Create your project". Remember to share both the final result and the steps that have led you to it, adding a brief explanation about what you have done in each one. Domestika has a great community where we're all looking to grow and learn. You can meet other like-minded creatives! I encourage you to engage with the forum so you can motivate and encourage each other. You can learn things by looking at others' work or questions they have asked along the way. I will be there too as often as I can to give you some feedback and answer your questions. I can't wait to see what you have created! ”

“Congratulations, you've reached the end of the course. I hope you've enjoyed your time learning some new techniques and talking about embroidery. Now I'd like to share some key points of the process. Don't forget that research can be anything. Take the research in your own direction and explore in many different ways. I've shared a few ideas with you and I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with as well. I want you to remember that free motion embroidery is just like drawing. There are lots of patterns and templates for you to practice, but you can also make up your own patterns a...”
