Food Photography: Creative Editing Techniques
“We are nearing the end of the course! I am glad to have been able to accompany you during a section of your adventure in the world of gastronomic photography. I hope that the image editing techniques you have learned will help you to develop your own style and way of working. Now it's time to complete and present your project: your photos edited and retouched with a personal style. To do this, finish the tasks that you started throughout the course, applying the changes based on the feedback you have received. I want to remind you that, before starting any editing project, take some time to think about what you want to achieve or convey with your photo, to experiment and create something unique according to your own vision. Below, I have summarized the essential points to keep in mind to complete your project. Do not forget to document the entire work process to be able to show the evolution! The photographs Choose the photos you want to edit. They can be yours or you can use mine, but remember to create something of your own! I recommend choosing images that inspire you and move something in you. The mood board Think about what you want to achieve with each photo and take notes. Consider the mood that the photos might reflect; observe the colors, the style, the composition, etc.

Lenka Selinger
A course by Lenka Selinger
Lenka Selinger is a photographer and food stylist who specializes in creating stunning culinary photos. She started this journey thanks to the food blog she kept while she was doing her PhD in neuroscience, as she spent her free time inventing new combinations and textures in the kitchen. This motivated her to further explore photography and experiment in the same way with visual combinations.
Years later, what had started out as a hobby became her profession, leading to collaborations with brands such as El Charro, Earth & Mama, Biochef, Magic Linen, and many more. She has also worked different jobs in advertising, creating images for magazines, restaurants, and cookbooks, and has even been recognized as the best food photographer in the world.
