“In this lesson, we'll have a brief look into the history of sign writing and gilding. Beautiful lettering has existed for hundreds of years, some say even thousands. There are examples of lettering from the 1700s and the 1800s that still exist today if you look for them. Up until the 1980s, the way that pretty much all signs were created were using handmade traditional methods. This started to change with the invention of the presses and vinyl creation.
