About the final project for: Title Sequence Animation in After Effects

Title Sequence Animation in After Effects

“Congratulations! You have reached the end of this Domestika course. Thank you for taking part and I hope you enjoyed it. It's now time to work on your project. This could mean finishing the title sequence you started by completing the course tasks or making a brand new project! Either way, I strongly suggest you take the time to gather inspiration and make a unique project of your own. Make sure to keep track of your progress with different pictures of each step. It'd be great if you could also explain the choices you've made along the way and tell us if you have any doubts. This will help me understand your creative process and guide you better if you need advice. Here are the main steps to follow: Create a mood board Build a mood board to consolidate some key and inspirational imagery for your project. For this course, I used Pinterest, but feel free to use another tool you feel comfortable with.

Work on the early sketches Roughly sketch out the scenes you want to create. Using Photoshop as a sketchpad, work out your composition and camera moves to begin the process.
Design the composition Once you have sourced the images you want to use in your scenes, import them into Photoshop and start designing your scenes. Remember to create dynamic, lifelike compositions.
Create the logo Work on your logo! Since you will be using it as an element in the title sequence, choose a thick font, so you can move the camera through. Think about a design that suits the movie or show: the logo should be legible and effective.
Convert the scenes into 2.5D Start the animation process by tidying up your Photoshop files. Then, import them into After Effects. Work on your composition thoroughly and add details and camera moves. Choose a track and animate the sequence Now it's time to select the music. The score you use will drive the editing speed and pace of your sequence, so this is a very important step in the process. Then, begin with the animation process! Start working on the transitions to create the sequence. Next, bring the logo in, join both scenes together, and insert some atmospheric footage into your scenes in order to bring them to life and add a bit more depth. Add different grades and export the sequence Use the colour wash as a grade to give your title sequence a different feel. Try different options and look at how the mood of the scene changes. Choose the grading option that you think fits best the mood of the scene. Once you are happy with the result, export your sequence and render it out!
I can't wait to see the project you come up with, so don't forget to share it in the forum. You can do so by clicking on 'Create your project'. I will be more than happy to answer any of the questions you might have along the way! I will try to get back to you as soon as possible. In the meantime, I encourage you to participate in the forum, comment on others' work, and interact with the community. See you there! ”

“Thank you so much for joining me on this journey of creating an impactful title sequence for a TV show or movie. I hope you've enjoyed the process and learned a lot. First, we took a look at creating a mood board in Pinterest. From there, we ended up sketching out our initial scenes roughly. We took those images into Photoshop and began working on our layouts and compositions. Once we were happy with those, we brought those into After Effects and began converting those files into 2.5D images. From there, we took a look at different scores that we could use to edit to. We then began the proc...”
