About the final project for: Fantasy Character Design in Procreate

Fantasy Character Design in Procreate

“Thank you so much for taking part in this course and I hope you've enjoyed it. It's now time to work on your project. This could mean finishing the character you started by completing the course tasks or making a brand-new project! Either way, I strongly suggest you take the time to gather inspiration and make a unique project of your own. Make sure to keep track of your progress with different pictures of each step. It'd be great if you could also explain the choices you've made along the way and tell us if you have any doubts. This will help me guide you better if you need advice. Here are the main steps to follow: The Concept Begin the design process by asking a good question, digging into your ideas and interests, and doing research to inspire you and expand your comfort zone. Learn what you want to say! The Initial Thumbnail Sketch Always capture your first idea with a quick gesture, then worry about the technique afterward. Sketch loosely, stay small, then apply the lenses of flow, line of action, and shape rhythm to your thumbnails.

The Tightened Sketch As you tighten the sketch, add layers of meaning and specificity. Each new detail should contribute meaningfully to the core concept.
The Colored Piece Be strategic in your use of color when you block it in. Pick an area of focus and drive emphasis toward it with every kind of contrast at your disposal.
The Finishing Touches As you apply shadows and finishing touches, make sure they add clarity to your design and reinforce the flow, emphasis, and core concept instead of obscuring it. Trust the process, but don't get lost in it. Let the strength of your idea shine!
And that's all! I can't wait to see what you've come up with. You can share your work with us so by clicking on "Create your project". Remember to share both the final result and the steps that have led you to them. It would be great if you showed a picture of each step and added a brief explanation about what you have done in each one. I will be more than happy to answer any of the questions you might have along the way! I will try to get back to you as soon as possible. In the meantime, participate in the forum, comment on others' work, and interact with the community. See you there!”

“ Final Project Thank you so much for taking this course. I hope sincerely that whether you're new to digital art or a veteran, you found at least one thing somewhere in all the lessons that will help you as you move forward pursuing your craft. With your work, remember that drawing with technical skill is only half the battle. As you walk around, look actively for ideas that inspire and spark something in your imagination. Anything you think, feel, or experience can become an ingredient in great character design. You're welcome to work directly with me in these videos, but I encourage you ...”
