Zou Wei lives in Munich and is an architect in the corporate sector. She is also invested in her own creative projects, especially freehand drawing. Growing up in China, she has been involved with traditional ink painting since she was a child, and while studying architecture, sketching became a habit for her. These two experiences formed the basis for the development of her own style. She is particularly fascinated by the infinite range of detail and abstract qualities offered by the combination of ink, water, and calligraphy pencils.
Through the practice of drawing, Zou performs a conscious exercise that allows her to quiet the distractions of everyday life and strengthen her inner voice. Her approach is guided by the principles of Zen Buddhism: simplicity, spontaneity, and self-expression, which shape her attitude and, in turn, her brushwork. Through her drawing practice, she has learned to find clarity in everyday life, to make decisions courageously, to maintain focus, and to act decisively.
