“ The First Layer In this lesson, we'll apply our first wash. You may have noticed that my board is at an angle and that's because we'll apply a wash and we want it to flow down the paper like this. I've got a range of colours here. We have a cerulean blue here, and that's going to turn into quinacridone gold here, then into greens, and then into a dark brown, which I'll make with crimson and blues so it will give us more of a purply browny colour, right at the very base.
