Allyson Rousseau
A course by Allyson Rousseau
Allyson Rousseau is a fiber artist based in Pictou, Nova Scotia. She studied studio art at the University of Guelph where she practiced painting, drawing, and sculpture, and later discovered contemporary weaving whilst doing research for her assignment. She quickly began teaching herself how to weave out of curiosity, and quit her full-time job to pursue a career in the art form in 2016. Allyson first began selling her work on Etsy and posting on Instagram, before setting up her own website.
Since then, she has created over 200 custom pieces for homes in Canada, the US, Australia, and beyond. She has also collaborated with brands including We Are Knitters, exhibited her work internationally, and been featured in publications including KOEL Magazine, House & Home, and Mollie Makes.
