“About Me Hi, I'm Eric Castleman. I'm a children's book writer and illustrator. I first got into this by my brother who was a great painter, still is. I wanted to be a better artist around seven or eight years old, and he sat down with me and showed me that what I as looking at isn't people or buildings, they're just shapes. I remember that day vividly. I went to school the next day and I drew something and everybody was wowed by it. The teacher took me to the front of the class and had me teach it.
