“The search for materials In this lesson, we will confront ourselves with the material to see how it reacts to our initial intentions. Here are some basic tools I gathered for the project. A cutting pliers, a pair of scissors, a cutter and a tape measure. I also bought wire netting with a horizontal and vertical frame, because it seems to me that it will be easier for the rest of the project. I also took a rather small fence so as not to have too much difficulty cutting and twisting it. There are not very specific elements apart from that. After studying at the École Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle, Jean-Baptiste Fastrez spent some time working for the Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec studio. In 2010, he won the Design Parade competition at Villa Noailles and created his own studio a year later.
Since then, he has worked for several brands and editors such as Moustache, Manufacture de Sèvres, Kvadrat, and Tai Ping. His work has received numerous awards and some of his pieces have been included in the permanent collections at the Centre Pompidou and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
