“Crimping and Molding the Inner Part In this lesson, we will look at how to crimp and mold the inner part of the bowl. Once we have the leather... It has gone through a tanning process in which the pores have been closed. When it comes out of the water drums, it goes through a series of rolling mills that close the pores. That is why the leather has such a smooth grain. We have to try and open the pores so it can absorb water. For that, we do something that we call crimping which implies rolling the leather like this.
