“Materials and Techniques In this lesson, I'll show you the materials that you'll need for the course to create your final project and we'll practice some techniques. I'll start with the material, or rather the types of pastels. These are the oil pastels that I use for the backgrounds and to get a hazy, faded effect, which I'll demonstrate. These wax crayons are harder and thinner and we can sharpen them. The wax crayons will be used to redefine the shapes and details and they'll give us more precision.
