About the final project for: Design Workshops: Boost Creative Collaboration

Design Workshops: Boost Creative Collaboration

“Congratulations! You have reached the end of this Domestika course. Thank you for taking part and I hope you enjoyed it. It's now time to work on your project. This could mean finishing the workshop you started by completing the course tasks or making a brand new project! Either way, I strongly suggest you take the time to gather inspiration and make a unique project of your own. Make sure to keep track of your progress with different pictures of each step. It'd be great if you could also explain the choices you've made along the way and tell us if you have any doubts. This will help me understand your creative process and guide you better if you need advice. Here are the main steps to follow: The Brief Start an in-depth plan of your workshop, first with objectives. Will you use the brief of this course or will you create your own? Either way, make sure you have a deep understanding of this before you start to plan. Clarify the reasons behind your workshop and whether you have the tools to complete it. Once you've completed this step, use the planning template I offer in Miro (which is linked in Unit 2) to organize the details of your workshop. Consider the objectives, the stakeholders, context, timing, space, and activities.

The Agenda Design your workshop materials, activities, and time allocation. Make sure you develop these aspects in a way that will keep your participants engaged.
The Workshop It's now time to facilitate the actual workshop! Whether that's online or in person. Work through the different steps: the warm-up, understanding the problem and generating empathy, framing the problem, generating ideas and solutions, and closure. Remember the advice I shared about dealing with challenges, should you meet any obstacles along the way.
The Report Once you've finished the session, the work doesn't end there! I encourage you to reconnect with your participants and offer them a report of the workshop. This should include a summary of the activities, with pictures and the materials used. This will allow the participants to refresh themselves on all that they've learned. The Survey Finally, gather feedback and keep improving. Prepare a simple survey to elicit the performance of your workshop. Ask the participants to rate and comment on the session, including specific aspects like activities and facilitation. And that's all! I can’t wait to see the project you come up with, so don’t forget to share it in the forum. You can do so by clicking on "Create your project". I'll be more than happy to answer any of the questions you might have along the way! I'll try getting back to you as soon as possible. In the meantime, participate in the forum, comment on others’ work, and interact with the community! See you there. ”

“ Final Project Thanks for taking this course. You're ready to facilitate your design workshops. When you work on your facilitation projects, please remember to have very clear goals. It could be terrible to invite people to a workshop to solve a problem that could be solved in a different, easier way. Also, remember that a detailed plan will take you places. Having a very detailed plan will allow you to be flexible and improvise if you need to. This will also help you stay on track and finish your workshop on time. Last but not least, keep building your own set of tools and activities. You...”
