About the final project for: Product Design: Create Pieces with a Story

Storytelling through objects

“ Before we say goodbye, let's review the key phases of the project. My end result was a credenza cabinet, now I'm looking forward to meeting yours. It would be great if you could briefly explain what you have done in each of the development phases of the project and accompany the explanation with one or more images. Research and references First, as I told you, it is important to know what you are going to do, so research other examples of narratives in the object.

Creative leisure As designers we are always in the rush of day to day, so I invite you to take a break to think about your tastes and you can find information in your creative leisure.
Mind map Choose what you like the most about this creative leisure and investigate more about that theme by creating a mental map.
History of the object and mood board Next, select a main idea, which will be the story to tell behind the object, and collect photos or images that will help you understand it better and build your mood board. Here you can see an example, but in Unit 3 I have left you a PDF with my different mood boards.
Type of object Once you have the images, from the mood board you will find possible types of objects, so choose the one you consider best. Let your imagination fly and start scratching all the ideas that come to your head, don't limit yourself, draw even crazy ideas too. Among all the typologies that I found during this process, I decided to go ahead with the idea of a liquor cabinet.
Design After choosing an idea, it is time to make decisions. Define the materiality of your project, its dimensions, the color palette you will use, etc. Remember to look at websites where you can have a guide of dimensions of pieces that are of your object category.
Model Finally, make a small scale model of your project. Surely you is great!
When you have your final project ready, share it with us in the forum by clicking on "Create your project". Remember to include not only the result, but also the step by step that has led you to find the history of your object. Although I ask for your patience, I will try to access the forum as much as I can and what my professional projects allow me. Finally, I want to invite you to actively participate in the forum, not only sharing your progress, but also giving advice and trying to help the rest of the community. It sure is very enriching. See you on the forum! ”
