Commercial Photography: Find Your Authentic Style
“Congratulations! You have now reached the end of this course. Thank you for following my process to create a perfume-themed shoot for my portfolio! I hope you feel inspired to develop your concept and play around with different materials, lights and angles. One final word of advice: Try to make your final project unique to you and your vision. Remember, the only way to create images that are both true to yourself and attractive to your dream clients is to test, test, test. So get out there and experiment! Before starting your final project, build an initial mood board, draw preliminary sketches, and refine your idea. I encourage you to choose an object or theme that works for your style and portfolio needs. Then it's time to refine your colour palette: Colour in your initial sketches using Adobe Photoshop. As your final project starts to take shape, it might also be helpful to create a shooting bible to show to clients. With all the prep done, you'll be headed off to our test shoot! During the first shot, remember to go through the camera settings carefully. You can purpose and arrange materials in whichever way you like to recreate a room setting. Take care of the lighting as well to bring out the most of your final project. This process will consist of a lot of testing and rearranging. Don't be scared to try things out! You can still change the setting and lights to fit the concept or product even better during the second and third shots. After the shoot, the only thing left to do is retouching your images to get them ready for your portfolio.
