“Now that I have the base of our painting created, we can start adding details. Sometimes when I'm working on an illustration, I like to take a break and come back and look at it with fresh eyes. When I do that, i often give myself notes. So I'm going to show you that process right now. I'll take my painting and I'll draw over it and make notes. I noticed a few things. For instance, this part of the painting was very visually similar. So I might go in and try and break up that shape into something more interesting.
