“Clay Pattern Techniques This is what it looks like after baking. The stripes are textured. They have grooves. It gives it depth and interest. You can smush them, blur them together and make it flat. I'll do that to half of the slab. I'll go top to bottom and bottom to top. I want to do this to keep the lines as straight as possible. It's a personal preference here as well, if you want more texture and grooves, or if you want a flat surface to work. I'll show you an example of a flat surface. I made these with a flat surface.
