“Establishing Your "Hook" In the last lesson, we looked at chapter summary building. Now we'll focus on developing your book's hook. Book proposals need a lot of things to take off. They need energy, momentum, the wind beneath their wings. Your book's hook provides that wind. Now, what is a hook? A lot of people call a hook a concept, but I think the concept is a vague term. I think the hook is an actual hook, but gentle, not violent. Something that hooks into our readers and reels them to read on further. In my opinion, a hook is made up of three components.
