“Methods of Basic Facial Proportions We just went over how to take a good reference photo. In this lesson, we'll see how to find basic proportions of the face. The first thing I think about is the placement of the face. Usually, your first measurement is the height. Then you'd do a sighting measurement to find the width, but since we'll just do a very simple, almost cartoony face, just to find where the facial features go, I'll just do a simple egg shape. I do often use the Loomis method as well, but I find the Loomis method works better for faces at angle, whether that'd be looking up, look...”
