About the final project for: Contemporary Stained Glass Design

Contemporary Stained Glass Design

“Hey! I wanna give y’all a big thank you for joining me on this little glass journey! It all started with some material knowledge and we worked our way through a full-on finished piece—I’ve truly enjoyed the process! Here are some steps you should keep in mind while making your final project: • Choose the landscape that inspires you, whether it’s from memory (freehand) or a picture reference. • Use a pencil while designing your template to allow for adjustment. • Use a good paint pen for accurate cutting and grinding. • Trust your cut lines, i.e. don’t over grind. • Trim your foil if necessary to keep lines consistent. • Remember to use your mask! • Work on soldering tempo. Don’t get frustrated! • Don’t skimp on cleaning and always wool your piece. • Display your glass in a safe way. You can register and share images of the different stages of your process. Don’t forget to share the final piece, too. Here’s an example of how you can present your final project: Template and glass cutting

To start, remember that you're working with chemicals and caustic materials, so safety first. Wear your goggles, gloves, and mask when necessary. We discussed color theory, but always remember to pick a color palette that makes you happy. Once you picked a color pale...”
