“Hat Protocol and Usage Tips In this lesson, we'll talk about protocol and how to correctly use a hat. First, we need to make a distinction between casual hats and hats for special events. Casual hats are used for day-to-day activities, like beach hats, straw hats, felt hats or fedoras. In this course, we’ll make a hat for a special event, such as a sinamay Pamela hat. The difference between men’s and women’s hats is that women’s hats usually have the decoration on the right whereas for men it’s on the left.
