Improve your drawing skills and unlock your creativity
Besides being a great illustrator, for the last years Puño has worked teaching drawing to people who thought it impossible. Through simple and fun exercises he is able to unleash your inner artist and unlock your creativity.
This course, aimed at artists of any level who find difficulties in issues such as perspective, proportions, shadows or color, is the perfect complement to the other two courses that Puño teaches at Domestika: Drawing for Beginners Level -1, in which he gave the guidelines to overcome blank paper, creating a complete artist's notebook; Original illustration by your hand and tablet, in which he taught how to get started in the world of digital illustration and home printing with various inks; or his new course Drawing and Creativity for Big Little Artists, to train your creativity just by using your hands, brain and some basic tools.
What's included in this course?
You will begin by knowing Puño's work and he will tell you about his peculiar and effective teaching way, in which practice is the most important factor.
Then, he will give you some guidelines for composition, highlighting the visual weight and how to emphasize it so that your drawings are perfectly balanced. You will learn the importance of lines and geometric figures on the plan and you will learn to use them as a narrative tool in your work.
You will also do several exercises related to perspective, proportions and the application of light and shadow to create a depth effect; these are essential issues for drawing, which often drive illustrators mad.
In addition, Puño will give you some useful and original tips to become a superillustrator and will share with you techniques and "warm up" exercises that will be very useful to develop your drawing skills.
You will explore other ways of creation such as the blotted line technique, widely used by Andy Warhol in his advertising commissions.
You will experiment with the visual metaphors and Puño will give you the guidelines and will propose a weekly challenge consisting of creating a series of mini-drawings.
Finally, Puño will give you some tips to share your drawings on Instagram and will invite you to be part of a large community of artists who share their work through this social network.
What is this course project?
From the exercises proposed by Puño, you will create an artist's notebook that will be useful not only to improve your skills, but also to show the world your progress as an illustrator. In addition, you will digitize the entire process to attract new followers to your work.
Who is it aimed at?
At artists who want to learn new techniques, parents and teachers who search new dynamics and at any person, regardless their illustration level, who is willing to overcome blank paper and unlock their creativity becoming a superillustrator.
No prior knowledge in drawing is necessary. As for the materials you need: a notebook, paper, ink, pencils, a pencil sharpener, an eraser, paintbrushes, pens, markers, a cloth, a ruler and a camera or a mobile phone.
