About the video: Ways of Ending

Overview

“Finishing a story is the same or more difficult than starting it. In this lesson you will learn the difference between an open and a closed ending. Then I'll tell you about the "twist" so you can add a surprising twist to your story. Finally, you will choose a title for your story.”

In this video lesson Penélope Córdova addresses the topic: Ways of Ending, which is part of the Domestika online course: Creation of Fictional Stories with Real Characters. Turn a real character into the protagonist of an exciting fictional story by exploring their conflicts, motivations, and goals.

Partial transcription of the video

“Ways of ending We have come to the moment to conclude our story. We'll see if we can do it through an open ending or by a closed ending and we will also talk a little about the turn of the screw. In this lesson, we will develop how to end our story. Concluding a story is the same or more difficult than starting it. In this case, we must collect all the information that we have left throughout the text, of the introduction and development and tie it, give you a satisfactory conclusion. We may like it or not, but it must have a narrative sense. This means that I cannot get ends of the sleeve....”
