About the final project for: Introduction to Chinese Calligraphy

Introduction to Chinese Calligraphy

“Thank you for choosing my course to start your journey into the fascinating world of Chinese calligraphy. Now it’s time for you to write a poem on your own in the final project. If you are struggling where to look for meaningful Chinese for practising Chinese calligraphy, copying Chinese poetry will be a good start. I left some poems in Unit 4, gather inspiration in them! I have shown you how to write all these types, and in what order you build them up from their basic components.

Pay attention to the proportions and aim for good symmetry.
Be careful not to use too much ink, but if you already did, use a bit of blank rice paper to absorb the excess and avoid ink bleeding. And make your signature at the centre or left bottom of the artwork.
And that wraps up my final project tips for you. Now it’s your turn to practice what you’ve learnt! Remember that you can also learn from the other students. Share your own tips and experiences in the forum, and I will check in, from time to time, to answer your questions. And you can also connect with me on Instagram @writelikedance you can use #ThomasLamDomestika in your post so I can keep track of them! It’s been a real pleasure to share my art and my process with you and I’m looking forward to seeing what you will make for YOUR final project. ”
