About the final project for: Artistic Illustration with Chinese Ink and Watercolor

Artistic illustration with ink and watercolor

“You have reached the end of the course, I hope you enjoy doing your final project and remember that everything here has a solution, either correcting what you did not like or starting over, so just worry about learning and enjoying this experience! Here are the main steps you must take to carry out your final project. First look at objects in your home or on the web that captivate your attention and that you want to use as a kick-start to create your own illustration. You can also check still life references. Make a preliminary sketch from an object or figure and complete it with accessories that create an interesting composition. In case you don't want to venture into the India ink technique yet, you can also make your sketch in pencil.

remember to define the points of light with which you can counteract the areas of greater information. Also make a copy of your image to adjust proportions and framing. Transfer to watercolor paper to continue working on your project.
When you make the final sketch, remember to generate breaks in the background of your illustration ; that is, try to make some areas of your sketch reach the edge of the paper, that will make it easier for you to paint the background. Then paint the background of your illustration with India ink , remember that you must soften the ink with water and that each area must be done continuously, each area must be worked without stopping so that there are no marks.
I recommend you to be very patient, but I suggest you not work by drinking stimulating drinks, such as soda or coffee, which can alter your pulse. In addition, work in bright spaces that are not very hot, since the latter accelerates the drying of watercolor and India ink and leaves marks on the work. Define your color palette doing watercolor tests. Do lots of tests to get vibrant and balanced colors.
When you paint with watercolor, remember to color your drawing based on the color transitions, as this will add dynamism and luminosity to your work.
Finally digitize your work , adjust the parameters you think necessary, and share with all the people you want!
I hope these tips help you a lot. Thank you very much for choosing my course, and with that, supporting my work. I look forward to seeing your progress and projects! See you on the forum! ”
