About the final project for: Cartoon Characters and Their Universe: Create Another World

Cartoon character design for beginners

“It's the final video of this course! I want to thank you for joining me and trusting me to teach you about cartoons and how to create them. It is now time to start working on your final project if you haven’t already. To help you, I will sum up here the main steps you need to follow to complete your project. Make sure to keep track of your progress. It'd be great to see the different steps and for you to explain the choices behind them. The Concept Create your concept: the world, your lead, and your secondary characters. Once you've decided on your concept, start drawing these characters! Sketches You can start by doing a sketch of your characters to get a sense of their uniqueness. Draw them in different postures, expressions, and costumes. Get to know them!

The Lineup You've figured out who your lead and secondary characters are. You've drawn them and made them unique. Now, create more characters! Your story needs more than just one character, doesn't it? When you have them all, put your lineup together.
Coloring Your lineup is ready. It's time to color your characters.
The Scenario Bring your characters to life by illustrating a potential scene for the show. Once you're happy with what you've come up with, finalize your illustration using Procreate.
The Show Bible With all the elements you've created (concept, characters, scenario), make a show bible. Congratulations! You’ve just designed a cartoon world and put it into a document that anyone can understand and enjoy! If you want to explore this project even further, I encourage you to try writing a script of a possible episode your characters could be in. Then try drawing a storyboard of your characters in that story you’ve just written. Share all that you have created on the forum, where we can all see it! And if you also wish to share it on other social media platforms, please don't forget to add #ButchHartmanDomestika to your post so I can find it! Don’t forget to encourage each other! The best way to learn as an artist is from other artists. Be honest yet respectful as you look at each other's projects and try to give thoughtful and constructive advice. I learned most of what I know from hanging out with other artists and you can too! I can't wait to interact with you. I’ll do my best to respond to each and every one of your comments as soon as possible. See you out there and congratulations on finishing your very own cartoon world. ”

“Final Project Thank you for taking my course. I really hope that what I've taught you has resonated with you, and most importantly, I hope it inspires you to keep moving on your cartoon design journey. Now that you've created all your characters, your character lineup, even a scenario, and your show bible, think of other ways you can continue to make your show concept come to life. I want to encourage you to write a script of a possible episode from your show featuring the characters that you've developed. Then I want you to draw a storyboard of that episode using all the characters you've ...”
