“Character Design in Miniature Another important process to get to know your character, that's key in children's illustration, are their emotions. Here I’ll show my character with different emotions. The advantage of animal characters is that they don’t just express feeling and emotions with their face, but also with their ears. You can do a study of how each animal behaves when it’s happy, when it feels threatened. For example, my dog is happy right now. Or interested in something, so it will have its ears forward. If, for example, he were sad, what would happen? His lips would curve down. ...”
