About the final project for: Sketchbooking with Handmade Stamps

Sketchbooking with Handmade Stamps

“You have reached the end of the course and now you’re ready to start your final project. Before saying goodbye, I will go over the steps I would like to see of your final print. Find Inspiration: Look for inspiration, go take a walk or maybe see the work of others on Pinterest, or books, illustrations, any place is good to look for it. Don’t forget to take photos of it or save images so you can do your mood board. I have found inspiration from nature, think about what inspires you, and use that to create your work. I encourage you to slow down and appreciate the colors and textures that surround you in order to find inspiration. Investigate tools and materials that work for you and most of all have fun!

The Image: Select an image from your mood board and prepare yourself to start working. be very careful while transferring the image so you can do all of the details. This will also help you when you have to carve it.
Carve Your Stamps: The idea is that you carve at least one stamp, but If you are feeling inspired, you may carve additional stamps for this project. Stamps are made to be repeated so take full advantage of that idea! If you carve more than just one stamp you will be able to make not just one composition but a lot of varieties of it. So take your time and breath!
Colors, Ink, and Print: Choose the colors you want, and work with the ink. You can mix the inks you want to create your own new colors. Have fun! Prepare your paper for your final print and then print your image. You can use new colors for this print.
For you to have an amazing project, I would recommend limiting your color palette and using your sketchbook as a reference. Remember so much can be done with stamping by just using a few stamps and a few colors. Remember that this is a process and take your time with each step. I've really enjoyed teaching this course and I will be happy to message you through the forum, but remember to be patient as I am also working on other projects. In addition to receiving feedback from me, I encourage you to help and give advice to other students in this course. Sometimes our peers can offer additional tips and information. Thanks for joining me in this course! ”
