About the final project for: Sustainable Packaging Design for E-commerce

Sustainable Packaging Design for E-commerce

“For your final project you can choose any brand that sells online and wants to do it in an eco-friendly way. It could be a food, fashion, technology, decoration brand ... anything goes! Since if it is sold online, it will need containers that contain and protect it. If you have nothing in mind, you can develop the packaging for a fictitious cosmetic brand. It does not have to be vegan, nor for tattooed skin, feel free to give it the look and the way you consider. Give wings to your creativity! Some recommendations: During the course I have developed primary, secondary, tertiary and packaging for Tanset. In your case, prepare a good briefing as we have seen in unit 2 and decide how many pieces of packaging you need to design. Each project is a world. The important thing is to be clear about it before starting. A key point: How are you going to make your packaging sustainable? always keep it in mind throughout the creation process and when making decisions. When deciding on the concept, personality and aesthetics: my advice is to take risks. Why not go out of your way and have a good time? If you have everything prepared before designing, the process will be easier for you: download the fonts in advance, prepare the photos to size ... The more orderly you are when designing, the less work your final art will require. Now we are going to review the development phases of the final project: Define the concept and personality of your brand As we saw in Unit 2, prepare a briefing to conceptually define your project and prepare a mood board to have it as an aesthetic reference throughout the project.

Receipt of samples and decision making After having chosen the materials and suppliers with which you are going to work, upon receiving samples you will be able to make the decision of which containers you are going to work with. So you can take measurements and make models and tests.
Development of the graphic system and design Now comes the time to choose colors, fonts, dies, etc. Afterwards, you can start designing sustainable packaging; in my case, I have developed primary, secondary, tertiary and packaging packaging. Review Unit 4 of the course to see how we have been doing.
Final arts and assembly As we learned in Unit 5, go over all the details and prepare your final artwork to send to the printer. Remember to use the checklist that I left you in the additional resources so that everything is perfect. After receiving the packages and graphic pieces from the printing press, assemble the various packages to obtain the final result.
Finally, your packaging would be finished!
Now share your final project with all of us by clicking on "Create your project". Remember to share both the final result of your packaging and the steps that have led you to it. It would be great if you showed an image of each step and added a brief explanation about what you have done in each one. So I can give you feedback. On the other hand, if in addition to the Domestika community, you want to share your creation with everyone, you can upload photos of them to Instagram with the hashtag #TatabiDomestika I encourage you to participate in the forum and advise your colleagues. It is very enriching to receive opinions from others! I will also be the forum to give you feedback on the practices. I ask you to have a little patience in case it takes me a while to answer. ”
