“In this lesson, we're going to look at creating a journal cover page. This is purely artistic and just a way to be creative in your journal. We're going to use some different lettering styles to create a quote and I've chosen a travel related quote as this is part of my theme. So the quote I'm going to create is by Henry Miller. This is a travel related quote which ties in with my theme. I'm going to just scribble down the quote here in pencil and erase it later. Annie Weir - the artist behind A Journal by Annie - specializes in bullet journaling. She studied graphic design at university in her home country of Scotland, but Annie never went on to work in graphic design roles and instead chose to pursue her love of painting and traditional illustration. In 2017 she discovered bullet journaling by chance on Instagram, and fell in love with the activity. So much so that in 2018 Annie started her first ‘proper’ bullet journal and created her Instagram account @ajournalbyannie to share her journaling online.
It wasn’t long before brands and potential clients began noticing her work and she was able to turn A Journal by Annie into a business. She has collaborated with various brands and publications including Rescue Remedy, My Life Handmade, Gaston Luga, and Simply Lettering Magazine. As well as this Annie also sells her artwork and products online.
