About the final project for: Expressive Illustration Line by Line

Expressive Illustration Line by Line

“We reached the end of the course. Now we are going to review the different phases to follow to develop the final project. I have made an illustration for a picture book project, but you let your creativity fly and make your project: an illustration for a pencil picture book, leaving a more or less clean space for information in case it should have text. Base illustration When choosing the image to illustrate, you can think of a scene in your life that is worthy of a story or be inspired by a traditional story, for example. When you have chosen your reference image and concept, create an illustration in which the elements are arranged so that we can understand the relationships between them, with an appropriate point of view and expressive composition.

Real size drawing with pencil After sketching your base illustration, it is time to move the drawing with a pencil to real size.
Chiaroscuro and expressiveness with the stroke Create a small light sketch to help you as a guide and create the general environment based on spots, gradients, and textures. Then, tap lines and hatches to finish defining the shapes as I taught you in Unit 4.
Color and pastel Then add a few touches of color to give your illustration more life and expressiveness.
Digitized image and final result Digitize your illustration to give it some final touches with Photoshop as we saw in Unit 5 of the course. You got it!
Now share your final project with all of us by clicking on "Create your project". Remember to share both the final result of your illustration and the steps that have led you to it. It would be great if you showed a picture of each step and added a brief explanation about what you have done in each one. So I can give you feedback. If you have any questions, I will be attentive to the forum as much as possible to solve them. I also invite you to actively participate in the forum and interact with your colleagues. After all, illustrators benefit immensely from the opinion of our fellow professionals!”

“Final project Now we do come to the end of this Domestika course. Thanks for getting here. In my case, I chose as the final project of the course an illustration for a personal picture book project to graphite and colored pencils. But you must decide what you want to draw. When you decide what is the representative image from which to develop the rest, draw it in real size. Then develop chiaroscuro and then give it expressiveness with your stroke. The next thing you will do is introduce the colored pencil and the pastel. Your illustration is finished, Digitize it so you can retouch it and p...”
