There are several ways to capture an idea visually. For Irene Cruz, photographer, cinematographer, and video artist, the best way to showcase her vision of the world is through images. To do so, she considers the role of models essential, acting as a crucial element for bringing a photographer's vision to life.

In this course, learn how to direct models during a photo session and create conceptual photographs that showcase your inner self. By exploring the connection between who is in front of the camera and who is behind it, you can learn to take photographs that reflect your deepest emotions.

Get started by learning about your teacher, Irene Cruz. Hear about why she considers photography to be her first language (even over her mother tongue), what references she has, and what her creative process is like. She introduces you to the course and encourages you to explore your uniqueness through art. Let the adventure begin!

Next, learn to brainstorm new ideas using something that represents you or moves you emotionally. Once you have established your concept, see how to develop it through the pre-production of your photo session. See how to make a mood board, select a location, choose models, and secure the materials you need.

Now it’s time to go into action. First, get some outdoor lighting tips from Irene. Work on the framing and settings of your camera before learning about how to deal with models. Then, learn some tricks for how to act in the case you have a creative block or things don’t go smoothly.

In the last part of the course, Irene shows you how to choose and discard images based on different criteria. Then, she explains how to apply the final touches to your image and explains the personal and professional outlets for your work.
