Artistic Photography: Transforming Concepts into Images

Born in Madrid and based in Berlin for more than seven years, Irene Cruz is a photographer, cinematographer, and video artist. She combines her work on projects in art market and cinema with her work teaching at centers and universities in the UK, Spain, Germany, and Switzerland.

Her conceptual photography work is characterized by its use of natural, cold, filtered light to create gloomy and mysterious atmospheres. She has participated in festivals, fairs, and exhibitions around the world, including the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, the Círculo de Bellas Artes or the Palacio de Cibeles in Madrid, the KunstHalle or the Deutsche Oper in Berlin, and Project Art Space in NYC.
