Artistic Watercolor Techniques for Illustrating Birds

Although I've been painting with watercolors for about a year, I found this course especially educational regarding color theory and tonal values. I especially liked seeing Sarah's process as she composed her piece and explained in detail how she painted the birds and her choices of color. This was a well organized and presented course. I will gladly sign up for another.

This is an amazing course if you're new to watercolour. Sarah explains everything brilliantly and even though I've been painting for a few years now there is so much to learn. Even better is the fact that she paints mainly with Windsor & Newton Cotman grade paints which are much more affordable for amateurs. I've really enjoyed the course and have picked up so many tips. Will definitely go on to do her watercolour animals course next.

What a wonderful class. Sarah is so detailed in her explanation of watercolor technique. I learned so much and loved the class. The only thing I could complain about is that it’s over!

Sarah explains the coursework in a clear and concise manner and takes you through the process is a manor that builds skill level from one lesson to the other. Several small pro tips throughout allow an immediate higher level of watercolor for the beginner or experienced alike.

I have been taking lessons in watercolor and acrylics for a couple of years. It was my love birds that attracted me to this lesson course. The artist is clear, very easy to follow, and addresses common mistakes and how to correct them. I felt that the course was very nicely presented. Easy to follow step-by-step. The visuals were top notch-Allowing me to go back to relisten and rewatch the lessons. I felt I was physically present with the artist.

I really enjoy Sarah's method of teaching. I have learned much more from this course on colour theory and mixing colour to paint than I did in my formal art studies. Sarah makes art approachable and enjoyable. I have already seen a difference in my work and inspiration since completing this course.

This is a very detailed course. Sarah is a great teacher with a very clear presentation style. She explains everything in a calm and concise way that makes it easy to follow. The course covers everything from basic tone to getting the line drawing down and, of course, the actual painting. The course is well structured and works seamlessly towards the final project. All the materials needed are well described and, thankfully, does not suggest you need to buy obscure and expensive materials.

Sarah is an amazing artist and teacher. I really appreciate the fact that she explained every decision she was making while painting, so you could understand the reason behind it. That's extremely useful. I decided to start learning to paint, I never painted before and she has been my first teacher. Well, I only can say that I'm really grateful for having found her, and this course, especially since I'm the greatest animal lover. What else could I ask for? :)
