Laura has put together an amazing course. I appreciate her ability to guide students to be brave, daring and experimental. Her idea is to interpret what is available from our environment using various painting mediums and techniques. She has helped me to feel free about my art and engage practice more often.

I am really enjoying this course and it has reignited my interest again which has lain dormant for too many years! I am really enjoying experimenting with the techniques and colours which I have never really done.

I am only on Unit 3 as I’m taking my time practicing all of the techniques that have been demonstrated. I’m using all of my materials so much more effectively and even enjoying making mistakes without thinking of giving up. I’m absolutely loving this course. It’s a pity I have to go to work.

Great course. Stimulating to look - and listen - afresh to surroundings, to use a wide variety of tools: sticks & twigs, brushes and bird feathers, tissue and bubble wrap. And unexpected media (like tea, pomegranate and beetroot). Teacher Laura McKendrick combines relaxed approach with challenging tasks: a 100 drawings of 1 object.

Laura McKendry is an eloquent, charming teacher who shares a bit of her development in the course. The course is full of inspiring, good ideas and suggestions, the units build on each other very well and comprehensibly. The course is for anyone who wants to be "infected" (newly or again) by the joy of discovery and painting and is looking for a relaxed style.
