About the final project for: Introduction to UX Design

Introduction to UX

“Congratulations! You have made it to the end of the course. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did making it. In Unit 1, you got to know me better and heard about some of the individuals who have influenced me along my path to becoming a UX Designer. In Unit 2, you learned about the different roles within UX Design, its value in the workplace, and became familiar with the UX design process. In Unit 3, you learned about the importance of UX research and how to synthesize your findings. In Unit 4, you learned that there is no such thing as a bad idea and you come up with several on your own. You then selected an idea or two to turn into a fully functioning prototype. In Unit 5, you tested your prototype with real users and gathered feedback from them. You also learned how to present your findings to stakeholders and clients. In Unit 6, you learned about case studies and different platforms where you can showcase your designs. You also learned some tips as to how you can best prepare for a UX job interview. It is now your turn to document all of your hard work and create your very own case study. Be sure to not just show high-quality visuals, but really explain the step by step process you went through and the “why” behind the decisions that you made. Be sure to upload them and share them with me so I can give you feedback. You can follow these steps to complete your own case study: Empathize: To understand the problem, it is necessary to conduct research, such as desk research, competitive analysis, and interviews.

Define: Decide the answer you want to give to a specific problem. You can synthesize data collected from interviews and create several personas with their respective journeys.
Ideate: It is time to come up with ideas. You can do brainstorming and prioritize those features using an impact/effort matrix. After this, you can define the navigation of the app and create a sitemap.
Prototype: To represent your ideas, sketch out your app, make some wireframes, and create an interactive prototype.
Test: Define a list of tasks to be completed by the users when performing a test and measure the results using a metric. Again, thanks so much for participating in my course! I look forward to seeing each and every one of you continue to flourish as UX Designers. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out. I am more than happy to help! All the best, Ethan”

“FINAL PROJECT This is the end of my Domestika course. I hope I have helped you realize that UX is much more than just digital experiences. Now it is time to develop your own final project and wear the many hats that a UX designer often faces. At the end of the day, you are going to be helping people solve problems. I encourage you to follow my lead when researching and defining problems. You should use heuristics to create a more inclusive and accessible user experience following the Design Thinking process. We started our project by empathizing and defining problems. I have taught you how ...”
