Cartoncita
A course by Cartoncita
Estela Moreno, better known as Cartoncita, left her office job at a bank to follow her passion for fashion. After her first fashion show and several collaborations with Gaudì, she realized that her ultimate goal in this field was to take on creative projects that would pose a new challenge every time. That’s why she decided to specialize in theater costume design and set design. Her passion for creative work naturally led her to create Cartoncita, a personal business where paper took center stage. Through this project, Estela revives traditional craft techniques like origami, adapting them to new technology and a more contemporary vision.
Cartoncita has done advertising work for Vespa, Samsung, and La Roca Village, filling up the rest of her time with window dressing, theater, and set design. Her desire to share her love for origami has motivated her to hold lamp-making workshops, and she has also collaborated with the big-name fashion brand Hermès, for which she created exclusive origami horses with scarves. On top of all that, in 2015, she published her first book Lámparas de origami with 15 basic and modular origami projects.
