And I'll show how I transform an idea into sketches, then drawings, and then the final touches that I do with fineliners. Here is an example of the story "The Black Cat" by Edgar Allan Poe, from the sketch to the final work. I start with very simple ideas with drawings that you would think are ugly or bad, but they work for me.
