I would highly recommend this course. The tutor is very clear in his explanations making it easy to understand, taking things at a nice pace. I hope he does more courses in the future.

This is an excellent course! I’ve been sketchbooking and painting for awhile and taken a number of classes, but Alex has synthesized the entire process of making a pen, ink and watercolor picture from thumbnail to matting and framing the finished work in a professional, positive and concise way. I would recommend this class to anyone!

I'm really enjoying Alex's course. His instructions and demonstrations are very clear, and the units are divided into manageable proportions. While I am familiar with many of the techniques, materials and ideas he offers, it is really helpful to go back and revisit, polishing skills, practising and developing as the course unfolds. It has made me look back into notes I've made previously, and expand on them. Clare

I´m new to watercolors and was nervous about trying it but Alex Hillkurtz explained everything so clearly and calmly. I learned so much. His explanation of perspective made so much sense.
My only request is that sometimes the brushes used be shown quickly since I´m needing decent watercolor brushes. An extra bonus for me was that he is left-handed.
I am amazed at the value I received for what I paid. I will be back for more courses.
