Architectural Sketching with Watercolor and Ink

Excellent course! Alex is a great teacher. I wish to meet him one day.

This class is fantastic! For beginners it introduces and demystifies painting with watercolors as well as 1 and 2 point perspective. For someone more advanced, just hearing some of Alex’s tips and thought process as well as seeing him paint in his style is tremendously helpful. His approach and demeanor are very relaxing and honest. I wish he had a coffee table look-book so I could study his images even more. Maybe in the future!

Very helpful advices are in this course - I liked specially the thumbnails, because I always have problems to frame buildings, landscapes or other things. I get out of paper. With the thumbnails my sketches are always framed now!

I am a beginner with watercolor techniques so the demos of his hands showing things were really great to see. Great editing job. That was the most important part for me to feel confident enough to do it on my own. He is easy to watch and listen to. I also teach online and have similar values and goals to Alex making it very comfortable. I got just as much out of it as I would have if it was an in-person workshop, maybe better because I could watch sections several times if I wanted to.

Muy bueno! solo que muy corto para principiantes en acuarela es muy recomendable, aprenderás de los materiales y herramientas para que puedas crear verdaderas obras de arte.

Esse curso abriu minha percepção em relação à arquitetura, passei a observar melhor os detalhes de ângulos, silhuetas, luz e profundidade. A aquarela amplia cada vez mais meu processo criativo.

The phrase Storyboard Artist does not describe Alex Hillkurtz. He may have made his living that way in the past, but today, I would describe him as an artist of significance, teacher and mentor. If you follow this course your painting WILL improve; there are so many gems of knowledge here.

If you follow him on Instagram as well, a warm friendly character emerges who loves his city of Paris. Alex becomes a friend as well as a teacher. I thoroughly recommend this course. SB.
