About the final project for: Futuristic User Interfaces for Movies and Games

Futuristic User Interfaces for Movies and Games

“Thank you so much for taking part in this course and I hope you've enjoyed it. It's now time to work on your project. This could mean finishing the interface you started by completing the course tasks or making a brand-new project! Either way, I strongly suggest you take the time to gather inspiration and make a unique project of your own. Make sure to keep track of your progress with different pictures of each step. It'd be great if you could also explain the choices you've made along the way and tell me if you have any doubts. This will help me guide you better if you need advice. Here are the main steps to follow: The Brief Make sure you understood the briefing. What happens in the scene and what’s the story your screen needs to show the audience? The Mood Board Collect visual references that help you explain your ideas for this project. Select the most relevant and build your style proposal with them. The Style Frames Adapt those ideas to the specifics of each screen, creating style Frames. The Design Design all the elements that will compose your FUI, always keeping in mind how they are going to be animated later. The Animation Import all your assets in After Effects and animate them, both internally and in relation to each other.

The Render Render your final animation and start making space on your shelf for that Oscar award!
And that's all! I can't wait to see what you've come up with. You can share your work with us by clicking on "Create your project". Remember to share both the final result and the steps that have led you to it. It would be great if you showed a picture of each step and added a brief explanation about what you have done in each one. I will be more than happy to answer any of the questions you might have along the way! I will try to get back to you as soon as possible. In the meantime, participate in the forum, comment on others' work, and interact with the community. See you there! ”

“Well, looks like we got to the end of this course. I'm really stoked that you made it here alive and hopefully still awake. And I hope you didn't suffer too much during the process. I also hope that you got to learn a thing or two about this weird, weird world that is design and user interface for fiction. Maybe you discovered that this is your favorite thing to do in the world and you want to do it professionally. Or maybe you realized that you actually enjoy having a life and seeing the sun from time to time. And this course was just the last push you needed before taking the decision of ...”
