10 Papercraft Artists You Should Be Following

The Domestika community lists their favorite papercraft artists
Paper isn’t just a material on which we can draw or write, we can work with it in lots of different ways to create unique illustrations, collages, and sculptures. This versatile and affordable material can take many different forms of artistic expression.
We asked the Domestika community to list the papercraft artists who they find most inspiring. These were the results:
Diana Beltrán (@dianabeltranherrera)
Colombian industrial designer Diana Beltrán explores experimental techniques with card and paper. She’s inspired by animals and nature, both in her independent projects as well as her collaborations with big brands. She teaches the Domestika course, Advanced Papercraft Techniques: Designing with Paper.

Tania Lissom is a Russian paper artist who looks to nature for ideas and inspiration. Her designs can be found on packaging, cards, and decorations.

Lo Siento Studio (@losiento)
This well-known design studio specializes in graphic identity. Among the many different pieces they create with original materials are their voluminous paper structures. Lo Siento Studio teaches the Domestika course, Papercraft: Volumetric Illustration on Paper.

Elsa Mora
Born in Cuba, artist and curator Elsa Mora currently resides in New York. Her work has been exhibited by lots of different museums and belongs to permanent collections in Washington, Long Beach, and Oregon.

Lisa explores different techniques for creating paper sculptures of animals and plants in a range of colors. She is inspired by art and nature.

Based in Barcelona, this papercraft and design studio collaborates with a wide range of different creative projects that set out to communicate powerful messages.

Together, Carolina Silvero and Juan Elizalde make up Guardabosques–a papercraft studio based in Buenos Aires. They work with books, create ornaments, and experiment with geometric shapes to create different characters and new forms.

Aside from being a papercraft artist, Noe Trata is a fashion designer, an enthusiastic cake maker, embroiderer, and knitter. When working with paper, they use different cuts to create unique patterns, figures, and scenes.

Based in Lima, Carla uses a wide range of techniques to create different pieces out of paper–from characters and animals to elaborate sculptures of landscapes that play with geometric shapes, volume, and color.

Ale Rambar (@alerambar)
Ale Rambar is a visual artist from Costa Rica. Their work centers around analyzing the human figure to later create three-dimensional compositions from layers of paper. Similarly to a topographer who analyses valleys and mountains, Ale creates his portraits layer by later. He teaches the Domestika course, 3D Portraits with Paper Layers.
