Free Download: Coptic Binding Ebook

Discover the basics of Coptic Binding with this free eBook and learn from Domestika's experts.
It seems true: History repeats itself, and the notebook-making methods that were trendy in Ancient Egypt among the Christians (Copts) of the time have now resumed their use under a new viral trend (in every sense): "DIY," "Do It Yourself."
Of course, it's just an illusion... Even back then, they didn't do everything themselves; after all, they had slaves for that. Fancy simulating being a pharaoh's servant, belonging to the lowest social stratum, for an hour a day, just for fun? With Domestika, anything is possible! We'll even spare you the lashes. You can find that information elsewhere!

Hojas de Ciprés
The creator of this eBook is Dessiré Valdez, but you'll find her on social media under the name Hojas de Ciprés, where she sells her handmade notebooks. Valdez has worked as a graphic designer and art director in Peru and Spain, where she currently resides (according to her LinkedIn, which I admit I snooped around...).
If you find DIY too much work, you can always commission Dessiré instead. No worries about finding sand in the folds or lapis lazuli stains on the pages, as one might expect. But let's not give up so soon! You haven't even downloaded her eBook yet, and you're already backtracking... You wouldn't have been much use to the pharaoh, that's for sure!resides (according to her LinkedIn, which I admit I snooped around...).
I also include her Domestika profile: Hojas de Ciprés

Promises Kept
As promised in the enticing title of this article: Here's the guide in eBook form, written and illustrated with great care by our well-known Dessiré Valdez!
Thanks to this comprehensive guide, you'll come away with a notebook made with your own hands... Assuming you don't pawn off the task onto your kids as a harmless weekend activity... The pharaonic system is still alive and well today:

Assuming you've fulfilled your promise and now have a notebook made either by your own hands or those of a little helper, and another one after acquiring a Hojas de Ciprés notebook to properly compare your work with an expert's, you're now left with two empty notebooks needing guidance to fill them (play along and forget you have free will for a moment...).
Domestika has the solution, of course... But it might also create problems: Even more blank notebooks made by you, which you'll quickly get hooked on making with our bookbinding courses.
