Now that you've followed the tutorial and know how to draw a swan you don't need me or this article, do you? Don't panic, our relationship continues: I will finish this article for the both of us. I have the perfect idea:
Did You Know?
Swans are birds of the genus Cygnus within the family Anatidae (unfortunately, ducks are part of the family... We all have a weird uncle, I guess!). Actually, the swans' closest relatives include the geese and ducks... This is a testament to how brilliant people can emerge from horrible family situations... Swans are grouped with the closely related geese in the subfamily Anserinae where they form the tribe Cygnini. I know this sounds like a type of pasta, but what can I do? I have to fill up this article somehow!
There is a species known as the coscoroba swan which is no longer considered one of the true swans. It's a sad day for the coscoroba swan... Imagine you were named "Human", but you were a monkey instead, that would be devastating...!
Swans usually mate for life, although "divorce" sometimes occurs, particularly following nesting failure... That's rough! If a mate dies, the remaining swan will take up with another. You can't stay a widower forever! The number of eggs in each clutch ranges from three to eight...
When I'm old and I'm dying on a comfy hospital bed, I will remember these factoids!
So, you don't only know how to draw a swan now, but you can also draw it reflecting the proper complex emotions that sharing a family with filthy geese and ducks must generate in the superior swan... And I hope your rendition doesn't come out looking like a coscoroba swan... That would be too sad!
