Is UX and Design Thinking the same thing?
Although many of us know that both terms have aspects that make them significantly different, the reality is that they share some similarities and that can lead to confusion as to whether they are the same or not.
UX or User Experience Design refers to all the processes that are carried out to determine what kind of experience the user will have when interacting with your product. For this it is necessary to know the consumer's needs and go a little beyond the expectations involving a team that is integrated not only by designers but also by engineers, marketing experts, industrial and interface design.
The application of the same allow the consumer to be satisfied and can be loyal to the brand or project that developed it, in the end it is all about creating something with a quality as good as the talent of the people who develop it.
On the other hand, Design Thinking refers to another type of process with an established protocol that anyone can take into account to solve problems. Although design is commonly used to describe a product or result, in this case it brings together processes such as empathy, definition, ideation, prototyping and evaluation to establish a problem-solving methodology applicable to any project or company.
Perhaps the confusion lies in two main issues, the use of design as the driving force of the processes that correspond to each methodology and the second, just because they are procedures that are applied to manifest a pleasant experience. Only that in one case, the one who enjoys it is the consumer and on the other hand, the design team.
