I'm a CA - NM "snowbird" and empty-nester. I re-started making jewelry and re-learned (and am still learning) pottery in preparation for my kids to leave the nest (house). Now I dedicate my free time to those pursuits and sell on Etsy. Those "pursuits" are more of a hobby than a business for me, though, so there's no pressure. Since CV19, I have found and increasing number of on-line classes. This also happened to be the first year that I was truly an empty-nester, my youngest having "flown the coop" for college in the fall of 2019. All of the in-person pottery classes that I had registered for were cancelled, so I started doing online courses. I'd always wanted to learn to paint with watercolors, so I started with that. Watercolor lead me to pen and ink. I think improving my drawing skills will improve both my pottery (decoration) and watercolor.
