Vernon Chan

Vernon hails from a creative background that spans over 20 years and is the founder of boutique creative hotshop - scratchdisk creative. He’s an avid blogger/writer, Twitter-addict, foodie, technology and gadget enthusiast, animal lover, Steve Jobs groupie and petrolhead.

His love for cars and motorsports inspired him to co-found TheCarGuys.MY in 2011, a now-defunct automotive site, with co-founders comprising of the same team that brought you Cars.MY magazine, published by MPH.

His passion for technology and gadgets has motivated him to take his 15-year old technology-skewed blog – VERNONCHAN.COM to even greater heights.

He takes inspiration from creative and successful people like Steve Jobs, Richard Branson, Dr Ivan Misner and Jeff Bezos.

His entrepreneurial itch resulted in his co-founding of TheHypedGeek.com, a portal dedicated to geek and gadget culture; which later became part of online publishing network called MindBlow – together with Malaysia’s #1 tech website SoyaCincau.com and fast-growing Malay tech website SoyaCincau - BM.

When he's not creating content, doodling, gaming and catching up with the latest in tech, Vernon enjoys his 20-hour days with multiple doses of caffeine, good food and plenty of humour.

Right now, he lives with a beautiful wife and two gorgeous rescued cats - Comot and Misa.

While he’s ‘always on’ and living online, he’s very much a people person. He describes himself as "WYSIWYG" – his online persona the same as he is in real life.

In recent months, the universe has returned him, with guns-a-blazing into the creative industry, working together with 4As agencies such as M&C Saatchi and Grey Worldwide. His creative endeavours can be seen in work for Fujitsu, Lenovo, Celcom, Dettol, MOSTI, and more.
