Water House....Project for Expressive Architectural Sketching with Colored Markers

I chose what I call the "water house," a small facility at the spillway of a local municipal lake that is used as a source for county water supply.

I did several preliminary sketches and tried various colors. The first one was too dark. When I went back to the actual site of the water house, I realized that the exterior was more tan than gray so I then opted for the tan colors. From the class, I incorporated sharding with lots of white space at the top. I liked this rather than having so much blue with sky and water both being colored. I did some stippling on the exterior walls of the house, although the color was so similar to the adjoining colors, that they don't appear too prevalent. I like the concept of stippling and look forward to incorporating it in future sketches.
