I think I am finally done, although still unsure whether to add some more subtle vines in the background to add a little more depth??
My idea for this was based around the pandemic the world is facing g right now. On a personal level the hummingbirds represented my 2 teenage children who are full of life and were on the cusp of freedom just as the pandemic hit. I have used bindweed to represent the way the virus has caught us all up in its tangled mesh and restricted our movements. The lower humming bird is caught in a circle of bindweed, I used a circular shape to represent what we call our social ‘bubbles’ here in the UK. Our movements have been restricted to these family bubbles which have sometimes felt like a trap. The higher humming bird is showing our hope for the future as the world becomes released from the grasp of the virus and our teenagers are free to fly the nest again....there is a chance I may have overthought this 🤔🙂
Marco - I really can’t thank you enough, for all your support and encouragement. Trying to come up with an original idea rather than just directly copying a photo resource has always been something I’ve aspired to and struggled with. I’ve certainly had many doubts and know this is far from perfect. But you have really helped me to start thinking more creatively as well as realising that I am able to push through the wall I often hit with my artwork instead of giving up, as I often have in the past.
