My project in Watercolor Illustration: Recreate Your Most Iconic Scenes course

I had a very good experience with this course. I have always painted in a very opaque way so I could feel in total control. Through the exercises and advice, I was able to let my paint stay more transparent and luminous. I think this is most visible in the flowers on the shirt. Unfortunately, I think I was less successful when painting the interior of the carriage. I wasn't happy with my original wash and I kept adding layers to make it darker. I was too impatient and ended up with messy shadows and chalky areas of pigment. Very frustrating. In the future, I would really love to learn more about making deep, rich shadows, since this has been a recurring problem for me.
